Leak Detection Survey in New Zealand for Horowhenua

19-Jul 10: Aqua Environmental recently completed a 250km leak detection survey in the Horowhenua Region of New Zealand for the local Horowhenue District Council (HDC). Horowhenua is a relatively rural part of New Zealand which is just over an hour from the country’s capital, Wellington, and half an hour to Palmerston North.

We were engaged to detect leaks in a number of small towns including Foxton, Shannon and Tokomaru, several small beachside communities, and the main centre of Levin. This is on the back of some strong work for HDC which we completed in May 2009.

The results were once again extremely positive with a total of 47 leaks located during the survey. This excludes smaller leaks that our Leakage Technicians were able to repair during our normal scope of work and Customer Side Leaks.

As an added benefit we provided field asset verification during our survey of each of the towns. Since we had a strong data set from our previous survey in May 2005 we were able to provide feedback on faults that remained unattended to allow prioritised rectification by HDC repair crews.

Aqua Environmental has a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand and is available for all leak detection services, water loss management and SmartBall trunk main leak detection surveys.
